Netflix’s ‘Is It Cake?’ To Be Adapted Into K-Drama ‘Is it Sudden Terminal Illness?’

After binge-watching Netflix’s “Is it Cake?”, the Lee family was at a loss for new content. Lucky for them, a new K-drama has just been announced: “Is it Sudden Terminal Illness?” – a show based on observing otherwise healthy people, who have either fallen in love for the first time, re-discovered a long-lost parent, or carried out an act of vengeance. One of the contestants will be diagnosed with a sudden, incurable, and obscure disorder. And sometimes, cancer.

The show’s creator stated, “I’d like to remind viewers that life isn’t all fun and confetti cake. My show reflects real life.” A highly anticipated episode will feature siblings standing side-by-side, as their parents guess which one has the terminal illness, in one final act of parental favoritism.

Five-year-old Min-Joo, the baby of the Lee family, is quoted as saying “Sibling rivalry? Great, that’ll be the icing on the fucking cake.”
