The CCP is an ally to women

EDMOND, OK – After Oklahoma lawmakers recently signed a bill criminalizing all abortions, China is now the cool mom who will let you get one so long as you’ve got a doctor’s note. That’s precisely why 25-year-old Sarah Wu has decided to leave her home in Edmond, Oklahoma, relocating to the land where birth and abortion rates are almost equal.

Women like Wu are desperate to maintain agency over their bodies and avoid criminal charges. China is the unlikely better option when it comes to reproductive rights. They have a history of enforcing a one-child policy with mandatory abortions, including gender-selective ones. China is moving toward pro-birth initiatives to offset its population crisis. Still, they look like hippies passing out flowers in comparison to the reproductive laws in America.

“Governor Kevin Stitt has lost his damn mind,” says Wu. “Sure, China’s population policies were once far from perfect, but they are evolving to be more reasonable. Their current aim is to discourage abortions for unmarried women by requiring a medical reason. It’s a chill alternative to a $100,000 fine or going to prison for 10 years. Not only will I have access to an abortion if incase of an unwanted pregnancy, but I also won’t be considered a felon for it.”

Wu is looking forward to her move to Beijing in the next coming weeks. She plans to get back on Tinder with the new freedom over her body.

“I’m really excited because the food there is so good,” says Wu. “Now I just need to learn how to say ‘unwanted pregnancy’ in Mandarin.”
