Callie Wong had just polished off two boxes of Trader Joe’s Chicken Soup Dumplings when a freak accident occurred. Wong was placing her freshly washed plate into the apartment’s pull-out drying rack when the machine malfunctioned and started spraying soapy water all over the dishware. “It just doesn’t make sense,” Wong said while recovering from shock, “why would a drying rack soak your dishes? What idiot designed this thing?”

Once news of this disaster reached social media, it became viral and forced the manufacturer to release a public statement. Maytag CEO Marc Bitzer issued an apology shortly after the incident, saying “many of our drying racks have unintentionally been installed with glaring defects, such as buttons along the top saying “rinse,” “auto,” and “power scrub.” These are completely accidental and you should avoid pressing them. We are deeply sorry to our Asian-American customers who have been misled by this grave error. Dui Bu Qi.”

Wong was awarded 10 social credit in damages.
