Uncomfortable Silence Handled Effortlessly By Uncle Loudly Clearing His Throat

NEWARK, N.J. 一 An uncomfortable silence during a family get-together was easily dispersed by an uncle loudly clearing his throat of any mucus and debris. 

“After a rousing discussion about our eldest cousin’s relationship status, I felt an uncomfortable silence coming,” said a worried Ayaan Patel. “It was still early in the night, so I knew no one would clear the air by saying good night. I began to sweat a little as I slowly rocked my head back and forth and stared at the carpet. I looked around the room to see if anyone was about to chime in with a topic change but instead I just made brief eye contact and lightly smiled at several family members. I began to pull out my phone as a last resort, when I heard a guttural sound coming from the couch. It was my uncle Rakesh,” said a relieved Patel. “After another brief moment of silence, all the children began laughing at the noise and uncle Rakesh livened up the room by having an entirely unnecessary discussion about his underlying health problems.”

Unfortunately, upon hearing about these health problems, another uncomfortable silence followed after no one could comprehend how uncle Rakesh was still alive.
