Heartbreaking: Kid Can’t Find Which Chinese Mom Is His at Macy’s

There is a whole generation of children who grew up inside Macy’s

TALLAHASSEE, FL – On a Saturday afternoon, 11 year-old Jared Li wandered around the local Macy’s for what felt like four hours searching for his mother among the many other Chinese mothers, sources confirmed. 

“I got here around 10am with my mom, and she had said in the car the only thing she needed was a new pair of work shoes. But as soon as I followed her into the clearance shoe aisle I lost her. I think the last time I saw her, I was standing next to the Sperry’s display stand and she was on the escalator with I think like four or five other Chinese moms… probably on her way to what could only be the Kitchenware floor,” Li explained. 

This isn’t the first time that this Macy’s department store has seen lost Chinese children wandering around their floors explained store manager Howard Mackinaw. 

“This happens all the time. The mothers come in with a handful of coupons that they accumulated over the past month, and they get so frenzied and in their heads about using every discount possible, they lose sight of what matters – their own children,” observed Mackinaw. “The kids get flustered too. Running around to see which 5’ 3’’ Chinese woman is theirs.” 

Chinese mother and Macy’s connoisseur, Maria Chen, weighed in on the matter. 

“Look, I’ve had four kids and all of them have done their time at Macy’s with me, and they turned out just fine. If anything, I’m giving them a challenge… a puzzle, to figure out which one is mama and which one is not. It’s really a test of their loyalty. Now, if you’ll excuse me, these coupons expire tomorrow, so please, if you could move out of the way, that would be great,” Chen huffed. 

While young Jared Li has since reunited with his mother after finding her at the cosmetics counter trying out Estée Lauder face creams, he has since set out on another journey to locate his father inside the local Home Depot.
