Despite poor reviews and being a financial flop, the 2020 live action Mulan is getting a sequel because… well because every movie gets a sequel, even if it’s a remake. This time around, producers will inject endless product placement into the sequel to recuperate the costs from the first movie.

“Product placement was difficult in the first movie,” said Disney CEO, Bob Chapek.

“Nobody was DoorDash-ing Chipotle in ancient China.” But the challenge became an opportunity with the right product. Every Hollywood producer’s dream is to make an entire movie that’s one long advertisement. Whether Mulan 2 is released on streaming or in theaters, audience members will be pelted with endless Shen Yun ads that they can’t escape. “We still might do some DoorDash product placement,” said Chapek. “The final title and tagline could very well be: ‘Mulan 2: Would You Like to Stay for Dinner?’”

“The sequel looks terrible, but I’m going to watch it anyways cause I watched the first one,” said Li Chen, an Asian moviegoer. “And Asians got to stick together. When Disney released live action Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin, and I said they should stop ruining my childhood and let great movies remain great. But when I saw the trailer for the first Mulan, I knew I was going to watch the shit out of that.”

Chen continued, “Honestly though, I’m tired of advertisements. I wanted to watch the Mulan 2 trailer on YouTube, but I had to watch an ad first. I don’t know how to articulate how much this frustrates me, but that’s why I signed up for a Grammarly account.”

Mulan 2 is scheduled to be released in 2022 with legendary Hollywood director: Quentin Tarantino.
