‘They chose the palest, whitest people to play them and they didn’t even add yellow makeup like they did in the porn parody’

HOLLYWOOD — M. Night Shyamalan’s new live action Simpsons film is being accused of whitewashing its main cast according to sources.

“The Simpsons are very clearly a yellow family,” says Simpsons superfan Bryce Wong. “But they chose the palest, whitest people to play them and they didn’t even add yellow makeup like they did in the porn parody. Shyamalan did this with Avatar the Last Airbender but I didn’t think he’d do it with The Simpsons. He got Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone to play Homer and Marge and Young Sheldon and the little girl from Queen’s Gambit as Bart and Lisa? I guess I shouldn’t expect too much from a guy who hired Bruce Willis twice.”

Director M. Night Shyamalan has come under fire for questionable casting decisions before.

“The thing about cartoons is that it’s impossible to tell what color or race they are,” said Shyamalan. “And whenever I’m in doubt, I just hire a white person. White is a good, neutral color after all, and the least likely color to offend audiences and hurt my box office. Sometimes people suggest I ask the creators what color or race their characters are, but the creators don’t know shit. If they knew shit, they’d be directing the movie.”

Some are fans of the casting, such as Twitter user whitepower69.

“White cartoon characters should stay white for live action adaptations and characters that aren’t white should be made white to be more palatable if you ask me. Dragonball Evolution and Death Note are my two favourite films because they take unrelatable asian characters and transform them into people that I can get behind.”

At press time, Shyamalan’s Simpsons movie grossed $320 million on a $150 million budget despite having a 5% Rotten Tomatoes score.
